I truly believe that to improve society you have to support people on an individual basis, first.

Jen Black. Hypnotherapy and Counselling.

I am a certified and practicing Cognitive Behavioural Hypnotherapist, Psychological Counsellor, and UKCP Trainee Psychotherapist. I hold an Advanced Diploma from one of the most prestigious and accredited Hypnotherapy colleges in my field (UKCHH) and specialise in Cognitive Behavioural Hypnotherapy. I am qualified to treat clients for anxiety, habit reversal, stress management, phobias, and confidence - with strong, evidence-based results. My Diploma is recognised by the British Psychological Society, and I will hold an MSc in Integrative Therapy from London Metropolitan University in 2024. I am also in training as an EMDR Practitioner at the Trauma Institute & Child Trauma Institute. And next, I start a Post-Graduate Diploma in Advanced Patterns in Psychotherapies at the Awaken School of Outcome Oriented Psychotherapies, on my pathway to UKCP accreditation.

An Expat based in Berlin, my private practice is online with international clients. As a former Executive Creative Director, I had been directing teams for 45+ International Brands since 1996. After over two decades in the Advertising industry, I have extensive creative, leadership and mentoring skills, and understand how difficult professional and personal lives can be to balance. I find that therapy is a form of creativity and activism, and particularly love to work with FLINTA* and BIPOC members of Expat communities. I get to help clients strengthen their confidence and develop their vast emotional intelligence, while helping them de-program from negative conditioning.

My goal is to leverage my years of experience to help you create positive change. Hypnotherapy and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy can truly help us to reverse negative thoughts, behaviours, and patterns and build better lives for ourselves and in relationships. For me, this is truly meaningful work, which I look forward to for years to come.

You can expect humour and compassion in our sessions as well as structured and goal-oriented solutions.

I am a member of the GHR (General Hypnotherapy Register) which is the regulating body for Hypnotherapy practice, and guidelines the standards I follow as a practitioner.  I also work with peers and a certified UKCP supervisor to continuously develop my practice.

I am also a proud member of the It’s Complicated international community for therapists, where I am acting Berlin Ambassador in their constellation of European cities. My task is to build a thriving, active, and engaged local therapy community by organising events, fostering connections among therapists and opening the space to curious non-therapists. So if you're already part of the therapist community or you would like to generally learn more about mental health topics, do get in touch, let's build!

KIND WORDS.

Right from the start, I felt so safe with Jen. She was incredibly passionate, made sure I understood everything before we did it, and took time to check in with me throughout. She was highly motivating and gave me some excellent tools, as well as ideas for things that would help me feel lighter or improve my experience with my trigger scenario. Jen helped to remind me of our goal throughout the process and gave really encouraging feedback when we were moving towards it. I think what most impressed me is Jen's ability to really see and be witness to other people's issues...I am just truly and thoroughly grateful for Jen's guidance and knowledge throughout this process. Life changing!
